Neverland was a little less than a two-and-a-half-hour drive away and that was depending on traffic. So, Kenya was weaving in and out of lanes trying her best to shorten the time. She had wasted time in her kitchen pacing back and forth trying to decide if what she was going to do was the right thing. Yes. Her hands gripped the steering wheel of her car in anxiety. She had to make it to Neverland before he left. She had to make it there to tell him she loved him. She had to make it there to stop him from marrying Lisa. She pressed her foot onto the gas and prayed that time would be on her side.
Kenya is interning for infamous Entertainment Lawyer, Johnny Cochran, when what could be the largest case of the 90s lands on Mr. Cochran's' lap:
Michael Jackson has been accused of child molestation.
It's easier said than done to keep personal feelings and opinions from interfering with her work even after the conclusion of her internship. It become's even more complicated when she finds herself falling for the man behind stage lights. To make matters worse he seems to develop eyes for her as well, but there's a few obstacles standing in the way.
Tensions are high, nerves are bare, and skin is thin.
Can she handle it?

Glad I came around to this book. After like the 7th chapter I was like team Michael and Kenya lol. I just see their friendship and confiding in each other turning into a romance much needed and meant to be. Kenya got involved in a world wind of a case that put her in an unpredictable circumstance ( going to London with Michael for rehab and she’d just got on the team lol).. But she handled the situation and its environment.. Instead of being starstruck by who he is or so gong ho about the case where it reminds him of the constant bad.. She just treated him like Michael, the human being who deserves human experience despite anything.. UGHH COME BACK ????
Michael wanted nothing more than to find someone who understood him. Someone who he could tell everything to and not judge him. He had exactly the image of what that person would be like in his mind. Everything to her looks to her personality. After praying and putting all his soul into this one thing he wanted; God has granted him his one wish. However, is there a cost to this enchanting desire?

This story needs to come back. This book keeps me wanting to go from chapter to chapter without pause. Like the exploration of interracial love during the 70s/80s. Holly and Michael’s situation with delving into their sexual attraction for each other, topic of Michael being a Jehovah Witness and Holly being put under pressure to kind of “ fit into that”… Her difficult relationship with her mom and how she finds a mother in her Aunt is sweet and warming. I like this!

Experiences a type of relationship ( friends with benefits, situationship, etc) that is intriguing for the both of them. Love it!

Absolutely positively one of the best stories I have read and experienced so far!! Not only is this capturing the journey and progression of two musically gifted people, but as well as connecting that element to the journey and progression of two youthful souls who’s experiences, feelings, thoughts, and dreams not only make them joined at the hip, but attached by the heart. I’ve read a lot of MJ fan-fiction stories, but your story captures Michael in a whole different lighting. It’s allowing me as a reader to relate to him on a more personal and familiar level. A lot of us think of him as a megastar ( which hands down he is), but at the root of it.. He’s just another young man trying to navigate the parts of his life the best of ways he can. Simply wants to be and is Michael Jackson ( without the whistles and bells attached). Cannot wait for another chapter!! Keep doing your thing!
